Print: Celebrating the Seasons - May
In this series of twelve paintings, Laura invites you to stop and savour a moment. Every piece shows a distant view framed by exuberant flowers, food and drink, all chosen to evoke the unique flavours and feeling of each season. This series is about celebrating the gift of being alive; of being present and wholly absorbed in a place and time. Laura hopes these images inspire joy and that they offer an opportunity to be transported and revived.

In May the vegetable garden is full of activity, and through the window we can see a well tended garden with a beautiful view. Both the garden and view of the Weald of Kent are inspired by the landscape of Laura’s childhood. The bounty of the garden is on display in the window; asparagus, new potatoes and honey. As well as a potted flowering geranium, the flowers here introduce deeper colours from earlier spring bouquets. The vase is full of iris, peony, honeysuckle, ox-eye daisy, centuria, cow-parsely, Leopard’s bane, rose, and daylilies.
